History

Calvo y Salcines, S.A. is a family company that has been operating, for more than 80 years, in the trade of raw materials for animal feed.

Located in Santander (Spain), our scope of action is developed throughout the Peninsula, both ports and interior, which allows us an exhaustive monitoring of the products from their origin to the destination, ensuring the traceability and safety of them.

Our years of experience and the ease of adapting to this market, which has changed for a long time, means that our clients can count on Calvo and Salcines, S.A. for making decisions on your purchases.

HISTORY

Two Cantabrian prestigious businessmen, Mr. José Calvo Llanes and Mr. Alfredo Salcines Gómez founded the company. Originally, the location was located at Antonio López Street, on the main line of the old Port of Santander, where resided all the port activity. In our installations, different types of cereals, feeds and legumes were stored, ground and bagged for human consumption.[/ezcol_1third][ezcol_1third style=”padding: 10 px; text-align: center;”]1974 – NEW MAIN QUARTER
All companty activities are transferred to the Avenida de Parayas, currently location, expanding considerably due to the growth and development of the business. These were located in the new industrial and expansion area of Santander and very close to the new docks of the Port. In them, it continued with the work of storage, grinding and bagging, with new cutting-edge machinery for the time.[/ezcol_1third][ezcol_1third_end style=”padding: 10 px; text-align: center;”]2007 – MARKET STRATEGY
With the entry of European regulations on animal feed safety, and with the turn that the sector had made, it is not considered appropriate to continue to maintain the grinding and bagging activity in the business model, proceeding to the closure thereof, maintaining and maximizing our commercial activity, incluing import-export operations.[/ezcol_1third_end]
